Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Neon Highlights, LLC collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Neon Highlights website and capture app.
It does not cover the merch store at shop.neonhighlights.com, which runs on Fourthwall and collects different things — a shipping address, for one. That store has its own privacy policy.
The short version
We collect as little as we can: an email address to sign you in, and a record of what you bought and downloaded. We never see your card number. We do not sell your data or run ads.
Our highlights show young athletes, so the important part of this policy is the section on footage of children. If you want a highlight of your kid taken down, email us and we will remove it — no explanation required.
What we collect
When you browse
Nothing that identifies you. Watching highlights needs no account, and we do not require sign-in to search or stream.
When you make an account
- Your email address. We sign you in with a one-time code rather than a password, so we do not store a password at all.
- A display handle, if you choose one.
When you buy or download
- Purchase records — which bundle, when, how much, and a Stripe reference so we can match it to a payment and issue refunds.
- Your credit balance and download history — which highlights you unlocked, so your library works and so you are not charged twice for the same file.
When you film for us
- The footage you publish and its tags — tournament, venue, court, game time, team, and jersey number.
- Payout identifiers. Stripe collects your identity and bank details directly for tax and anti-fraud purposes. We store only the reference to your Stripe account, never your bank details or government ID.
What we never collect
Card numbers. Payments run through Stripe’s hosted checkout. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. We also do not collect player names, ages, rosters, or contact details for anyone shown in a highlight.
Footage of young athletes
Most people shown in Neon Highlights are minors. We have built the product to hold as little information about them as possible, and to make removal easy.
- We do not tag by name. Highlights are indexed by tournament, court, game time, team, and jersey number — not by player identity. We have no roster access and do not attempt to determine who anyone is.
- We do not build player profiles. There is no per-child record, no history that follows a player between events, and no facial recognition anywhere in the service.
- Highlights are short clips of gameplay filmed at organized tournaments, published by the videographer who filmed them.
Having a highlight removed
Email support@neonhighlights.com with a link to the highlight. We will take it down. You do not need to prove who you are or explain why.
Removal stops a highlight being streamed or sold from that point on. It cannot recall a file someone has already downloaded. If you ask, we will tell you whether the highlight had been purchased.
Children as users
Accounts are for adults. You must be 18 or older to create one or to buy credits, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 as users of the service. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will delete it.
How we use what we collect
We use it to run the service, and for nothing else:
- Signing you in and keeping your library and credit balance.
- Taking payment, issuing refunds, and paying videographers their share.
- Answering support requests and handling takedowns.
- Preventing fraud and abuse.
- Meeting tax and legal obligations, including issuing tax forms to videographers.
We do not sell your personal information, share it with data brokers, or use it to target advertising at you.
We also measure how the site and app are used — which pages and screens people open, which steps they finish or abandon — so we can fix what is confusing. This is about how the product is used, not about who you are, and we do not combine it with your purchase history to build a profile of you.
Who we share it with
Only the vendors that make the service work, each handling one job:
- Stripe — payments, videographer identity verification, and payouts.
- Supabase — our database, sign-in, and video storage.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Resend — sign-in codes and support email.
- Google Analytics — measuring how the site and app are used.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to protect someone’s safety — particularly a child’s.
If the business is ever sold or merged, account data may transfer with it. We would tell you before that happened.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, and to measure how the site is used so we can improve it.
We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not build profiles to follow you across other websites.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep account data while your account is open. Purchase and payout records are kept longer — typically seven years — because tax and accounting rules require it.
You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing support@neonhighlights.com. We will remove your account, handle, and library. Files you already downloaded stay on your devices, and transaction records we are required to keep will remain.
You can also ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy law — write to us and we will honor them.
Security
Highlight files live in private storage and are served through short-lived signed links rather than public URLs. Sign-in is passwordless, so we do not store a password for your account. Access to production data is limited to people who need it to run the service.
No system is perfectly secure. If we discover a breach affecting your information, we will tell you promptly.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we will update the effective date above and notify account holders by email before it takes effect.
